Donations and Allocations

Net income from operations is used to support the campuses we serve. Aztec Shops allocates a portion of its earnings at the end of each fiscal year to San Diego State University and SDSU Associated Students, which then use the funds to provide additional campus community services. Other donations are distributed throughout the year to campus groups, clubs, organizations and the athletic department.

Donations from Aztec Shops have funded several large SDSU campus capital improvements in recent years including: $2 million for renovation of the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Building, $2 million in furniture, fixtures and equipment for dining facilities at the Cuicacalli Suites residence halls and $5 million for a complete renovation of East Commons.

In addition to contributions of financial support, the corporation encourages its staff to participate in various campus administrative boards and committees.


Donation Requests:

Aztec Shops will provide donations as appropriate to requesting parties who represent one of the following constituencies:

  • A group currently classified as an SDSU Recognized Student Organization (RSO) by Student Life & Leadership
  • A faculty or staff college / department comprised of current University or Auxiliary Employees
